ANNUAL REPORT OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-25

Honourable Chief Guest, Esteemed Guest of Honour, Valued Special Guest, Revered Presiding Guest. Respected Director, CEO, College Coordinator, members of the Faculty and Staff, my dear students, parents and well-wishers.

Amid the blessings of God Almighty, I put forth the Annual Report of Academic year 2024-25.

Our SPIPS Family was blessed with Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mathew Kuttimackal as the new Chairman and Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Indore. The College extends profound gratitude to Bishop Most Rev. Dr. Chacko Thottumarickal for his care and concern. It is a matter of great pride that our Director is now the Vicar General of Catholic Diocese of Indore.

Our college attained prestigious UGC 12 (B) status and celebrated the fifteenth Foundation Day on 26th July.

Five hundred and tennewly admitted students and three faculty members were added to our fraternity.

All the internal exams, remedial classes and bridge courseswere religiously conducted resulting in very satisfactory university results which is as follows:-

Our eight students stood in top rank positions of DAVV 2023-24results and Merit Day was conducted for them.

Placements reached 114 as a result of 18career-orientedsessions andjob fairswith 12companies.18 employability enhancement courses, 52 Subject-wise Field trips, 10 Industrial visits,two industrial exposure tours, 200 + personality development activities 150+ social commitment programmes, 300+co-curricular and extra-curricular activities,annual athletics meet and sports competitions were held.All the important days and festivals were celebrated and college publications were released. Class-Wise Best Practice was introduced this year.

The Principal, Dr. Sr. Alice Thomas was conferred National Level AIACHE Best Principal Award and Excelsia Award. She authored one book, participated in four international conferences including two Principal’s Conferences and was keynote speaker. She and two faculty members Prof. Vidhi Paryani, and Dr. Mahesh Joshi were felicitated by Rotary Club Adarsh.

Dr. Sonali Solanki was awarded Ph.D. Dr. Rajesh Vyas was bestowed with four awards. Dr. Unmekha Tare was conferred two awards andauthored book along with Dr. Danish Khan. Dr. Anubhuti Sharma, Prof. Anantharaj Manoj, Prof. Bhavana Sangamnerkar, Dr. Swati Singh, Prof. Madhavi Tarani, Prof. Tapan Pandit and Dr. Prachi Rathiadded feather to our crown. The students also won best research paper presentation awards. Our college activities were widely covered in newspaper.

A total of 90 Research Papers and 11 Books were published and six national and international conferences were organized by the departments. Out of 46 faculty members, we have 27 doctorates and 12 Ph.D. supervisors.

Flat Panel Boards and Solar Panels were added to our state-of-art infrastructure.
Student of our college, Mr. Shivendra Solanki represented MP in 2025 Republic Day Parade.
Students brought laurels in inter-college cultural and sports events.
Students participated in DAVV sports teams and Youth Festival.

Fresher’s Talent Show on Feast Day of our Principal witnessing the esteemed presence of Prof. Dr. Renu Jain, Vice Chancellor DAVV and Inter-class dance competition on birthday of our Directorwereresounding celebrations.

Inter- House Cultural, Arts and Literary Competitions werehighly enjoyed by all.

The NSS Committee organized annual camp, eye and health checkup in villages andalso for parents, staff and students. Our college was a part of Guiness Book of world record for plantation in Indore.

The NCC Cadets conducted parades, allied activities and participated in camps along with the NCC officer.

All the Departments conducted four Fests, 32 activities under MOU and collaboration along with a variety of events.

Our MBA institute organized numerous professional events.

Elections of house-wise office bearers and executive committee of Parents Professors Association were done. A total of 883 parents participated in two Parents Professors Meetings.

Dr. Tessy Thomas, Missile Woman of India led a Faculty Enrichment Session.

The Director and Principal conducted meetings with all the classes, Student Representatives and faculty members.

We are grateful to ourChairman, Governing Body, Managing Committee, Finance Committee, Academic Council andEffervescent Director for being our guiding light.

Amid the blessings of God Almighty, I am delighted to put forth the Annual Report of Academic year 2023-24. I feel elated to share that our college has attained autonomous status and all the meetings have been successfully completed. The College celebrated the fourteenth Foundation Day on 26th July.

I - Curricular Aspects

Six hundred and twonewly admitted students were accorded a heartfeltwelcome and Merit Day was conducted. Placements reached seventy-seven (77) as a result of sixteen career-orientedsessions andjob fairswith Fourteen companies. HR Conclave, Industrial visits and Industrial exposure tours were conducted. Our students stood in top rank position of DAVV results of 2022-23. The result of first examination under autonomous status conducted for M.Com. was declared within fifteen days.

II- Teaching, Learning and Evaluation

All the internal examswere conductedresulting in very satisfactory university results.The detailed result is as follows:-

III- Research, Consultancy and Extension Activities

The Principal, Dr. Sr. Alice Thomas was conferred Life Time Achievement Award anddeliveredExpertTalk in international conference at XLRI, Jamshedpur. Our faculty members, Dr. Vivek Kaushik, Prof. Madhavi Tarani and Prof. Bhavana Sangamnerkar made us proud. Research modules for students have made them capable of writing and presenting research papers. Out of forty onefaculty members, we have 25 doctorates and 9 Ph.D. supervisors.

IV- Infrastructure and Learning Resources

The College is indebted to the Management for providing the best infrastructure.Interior beautification, Five Flat Panel Boards, Autonomous Examination Control Room and 24 CCTVs were added and 104 CCTVs were upgraded.

V- Student Support and Progression

This year all the events and programmes were student led. Fifty eightstudents brought laurels in inter-college cultural and sports events. The students got selected in DAVV sports teams and participated in the DAVV Youth Festival. This year all the days of importance and festivals were enthusiastically celebrated. Feast Day of our Principal was jovially celebrated in the form of Fresher’s Talent Show. The Inter-class dance competition on birthday of our Director was aresounding celebration. Inter- House Cultural, Arts and Literary Competitions washighly enjoyed by our students. Fashion Ramp Walk an innovation this year, witnessed enthusiastic involvement of Director, Principal Faculty members and students. The college publications were duly released and all the in-house committeesorganized nearly three hundredco-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Ms. Sufeen Sheikh from BCA secured an internship with stipend of $1500.

VI- Governance, Leadership and Management

The SPIPS family is grateful to the Chairman, Governing Body, Managing Committee and Finance Committee. The commendable endeavours of our Directorhave made our college reach zenith. Heartfelt gratitude our admirable Principal for herefficientadministration. Elections of house-wise office bearers and executive committee of Parents Professors Association wereduly done. A total of seven hundred thirty oneparents participated in two consecutiveParents Professors Meeting.

VII- Institutional Distinctiveness and Best Practices

The Director and the Principal conducted meetings with all the students,Student Representatives and faculty members. Programmes on traffic and environmental awareness and girls’ safety were the highlights this year. Our Director through Red FM and My FM gave a strong message for the Youth of our society.

VIII – NSS and NCC Activities

NSS Committeeorganized health awareness camp, free eye and health checkup in villages,for parents and staff. NSS camp blood donation camp and nukkadnatak. The college was awarded for its social responsibility. The NCC committee conducted parades and allied activities. Thirty-sixCadets and NCC officer participated in international camp.

IX – Departmental Activities

All the departments meticulously conducted a variety of sessions and an array of events. Our MBAinstitute also organized numerous professional events. Annual AthleticsMeet;indoor and outdoor sports competitions channelized the energy of the young minds.

Amid the blessings of God Almighty, I am delighted to put forth the Annual Report of Academic year 2022-23. At the outset, I feel elated to share that our college is now accredited with 'A' Grade 3.12 by NAAC and has initiated MBA course. The College celebrated the thirteenth Foundation Day on 26th July.

I - Curricular Aspects

Academic Year 2022-23 witnessed five hundred and seventy fivenew admissions. AWelcome cum Orientation and Merit Day were conducted for the students. The Career, Skills and Placement Committee organized elevensessions on skills development courses.Internship,placement drive and job fair was conducted with fourteen major companies, consequently, ninety one of our students were placed. Industrial visit for all the First year and industrial exposure tours for the second and third year students was conducted. I am Glad to share that our eighteen students stood in top ten rank position of DAVV results of 2021-22.

II- Teaching, Learning and Evaluation

All the internal exams were duly conducted. The result of the past academic year was very satisfactory. The detailed result is as follows:-

III- Research, Consultancy and Extension Activities

The Principal, Dr. Sr. Alice Thomas was conferred Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Puruskar-2022 for Academic Excellence as Distinguished Principal. Dr. Ravi Vyas was bestowed with Best Researcher award by Aarav Foundation. Prof. Gagan Mittal and Prof. Danish Khan were conferred doctorate degree. Our ten faculty members are registered Ph.D.supervisors.

IV- Infrastructure and Learning Resources

The Management of our college deserves admiration for providing world class infrastructure to our students. Our infrastructure is being utilized by local community for societal upliftment. The interior decoration of the building was beautifully done and fire safety system was installed.

V- Student Support and Progression

Our fifty three students participated in inter-college cultural events and brought laurels to our college. Our four students got selected in DAVV sports teams. Our table tennis andchessteam secured second position in district level tournaments. Our five Students brought laurels to the college in sports.

This year all the days of importance especially theSilver Jubilee Celebration of Director, Rev. Fr. Simon Raj priesthood and festivals were enthusiastically celebrated. The Talent Show was organized on the occasion of birthday of the Director, Rev. Fr. Simon Raj in the form of Inter-Class Competition. Election of House-wise Office Bearers was done and anInvestiture Ceremony was held. Our twenty two students participated in the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Youth Festival. All the in-house committeesorganized a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for chiseling the skills of the students.

VI- Governance, Leadership and Management

From the bottom of the heart, the SPIPS family extends a profound gratitude to the Chairman, Most Rev. Dr. Chacko Thottumarickal, Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Indore, Governing Body, Managing Committee, Finance Committee and Director of our College for their care and concern. Election of the office bearers of executive committee of Parents Professors Association was done and one class-wise parents professors meeting witnessing 387 parents was held. Cross verification of answersheets, quality check viva, Entrepreneurial skills enhancement, Guest talks on mental and physical well-being of studentswere done under the initiative ofIQAC. Monthly e-newsletter SPIPS Memoir, three newsletters and Annual Magazine were duly released. Under the pivotal guidance of the Director and the Principal, the last Saturday of the month is dedicated for devotional prayer service, Evaluation and Planning Meeting and Faculty Enriching Faculty programmes. A four day rejuvenating Expedition cum Industrial Tour to Jaipur and Ranthambore was organized for the Faculty and Staff members.

VII- Institutional Distinctiveness and Best Practices

The Director and Principal conducted regular meetings with Hostellers, Class Representatives and Committee Representatives. Nineactivitieswere organized on environmental awareness and sixteen on gender equity.

VIII – NSS and NCC Activities

NSS Committee signed MoU with four NGOs, organized a health awareness camp, free eye and health checkup in villages and for parents and staff. NSS camp at our adopted village Dudhiya, blood donation camp and nukkadnatak. The NCC Committee conducted regular parades, social commitment programmes, blood donation, drill competition, trekking, Tiranga bike yatra, participation of 40 cadets and NCC officer in two CATC camps.

IX – Departmental Activities

All the Departments organized National Seminars and Workshops and conducted bimonthly activities. Four hundred and ninety class-wise personality development and social commitmentprogrammeswere conducted in the academic year.

The Department of Commerce:
Inauguratedthe commerce clubactivities and conducted Invited talks, sessions on career opportunities and developing business plan, SPIPS Fiesta 2023, commerce quiz, activities under MoU with five colleges and sessions by alumni.

The Department of Management:
Inaugurated SPIPS Management Association and conducted Guest Lectures, Management Fest, Business Quiz, Poster Making, sessions on Career Opportunities, activities under MoU with two colleges,debate and alumni interaction.

The Department of Humanities arranged:
Sessions on Vocabulary Enhancement, Mock Parliament, Mock Gram Panchayat, Spell Bee Competition, NukkadNatak, Role Plays,Group Discussions and Activities under MoU with two colleges.

The Department of Computer Science organized:
Career counselling sessions, guest lectures and alumni sessions on Digital Content Writing, coding decoding,object orientedtechnology,flipped classroom activities under MoU with 2 colleges.

The Department of Science organized:
Guest talks on computer hardware and software, new trends in Physics, career counselling sessions, poster and model exhibitions, GK Quiz, Science club activities and activities under MoU with one college.

The Department of Physical Education organized:
Annual Athletics Meet, Inter-department and Inter house Table tennis, Turf Football, Chess, Cricket, Basketball and Volley Ball Competitions, Inter-collegeYoga and Football Competition.
