SPIPS in 2012-13

Today, standing here before you, I take pride in placing on record the success story of our college for the current academic year (2012-13).

For SPIPS, the new academic year began on 25th June, 2012. On that day, the second year and third year students were given a warm welcome by the members of the faculty and staff. This senior batch of students prepared themselves intensely to welcome the freshers. During the first week of their classes, the faculty took special care to instruct the seniors regarding the need to warmly welcome the freshers into the SPIPS family, care for them and make them comfortable and feel at home. Accordingly, when the new batch of 265 students arrived on 2nd July they were welcomed with open arms and fraternal affection.

This academic year, with SPIPS entering into the 3rd year of its existence, marks the completion of one cycle of Under Graduate courses for the SPIPS family. As of today, we have 495 students pursuing nine Under Graduate courses. On 26th July, 2012, SPIPS celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day which was celebrated as the Freshers’ Day, a day that was completely dedicated to showcasing the multiple talents of the new batch of students.

The college has been flourishing smoothly and has reached great heights within a short span of two and a half years under the able guidance and nurturing provided by our Director, Dr. Fr. C. Michael John, a person with an attitude so enchanting, knowledge so deep and astuteness so refined, that with him at the helm we are hopeful of scaling even greater heights in the years to come.

Now, I would like to enumerate briefly some of the important achievements of our college during the current academic year.

It is well said that ‘We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us’. The management of our college is committed to ensuring that the infrastructure made available to the students is of the highest standards. With the number of students increasing steadily, the third floor of our college, which is under construction now, will help us to more uniformly allocate the classes in the coming years.
