About the Programme

Established in 2011 at St. Paul Institute of Professional Studies (SPIPS), Indore, the Bachelor of Computer Applications (B.C.A.) is a three-year undergraduate programme comprising six semesters.

The programme develops technical proficiency in programming, analytics, computer systems, and software development, while also emphasizing communication, teamwork, leadership, and employability skills.

The B.C.A. programme at SPIPS blends theoretical knowledge with practical learning through programming laboratories, projects, workshops, and hands-on assignments. Students study essential subjects such as Python, Java, Data Structures, Database Systems, Operating Systems, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, and Web Development, ensuring strong technical competency.

Along with technical training, the programme focuses on communication skills, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. The curriculum is regularly updated to meet industry demands, preparing students for careers in software development, system analysis, web technologies, networking, and other IT-enabled roles.

Eligibility Critieria

Admission in SPIPS for the Year 2025-26

For the academic year 2025-26 the following shall be the criteria of MINIMUM MARKS for eligibility for admission at SPIPS:

The candidate should have passed in all the subjects.

Calculation of the average/percentage for students who may have more than five subjects:

  • For C.B.S.E. students – take the average of the five best marks obtained.
  • For I.C.S.E. students – take the average of English plus the four best marks obtained.

On all matters, the decision of the Management shall be final.

Note:

  • Parents/Guardians/Students are requested to purchase the Application Form for Admission only if the result of the student fits as per the above criteria.
  • Sports Scholarship and Academic Scholarship will be granted as per the norm.
  • 5% relaxation in percentage or an equivalent grade for SC/ST and Differently able (DA) category candidates from a recognized University / Institute.

Phase One: Inquiry, Information & Counselling:

The candidate/guardian is welcomed at the Administrative Block.

The candidate/guardian receives the Enquiry Form from the Reception.

R The candidate carrying the Enquiry Form is guided by a Staff to the Conference Hall for counselling. [The candidates who return with the duly filled Application Form for Admission are also welcomed and guided to the Counsellors for Verification and Recommendation.]

The Enquiry Form will be filled-up by the candidate/guardian at the Counselling Venue.

F The Enquiry Form is received and preserved by the Faculty/Counsellor at the Conference Hall. The Syllabus, Fee Structure, etc., are also explained to the candidates. [The counsellors stress on the core values SPIPS holds dear, like Academics, Uniform, Attendance, Discipline, Respect for others, Regular participation in Extracurricular activities, etc.] After counselling the candidate is guided by the visiting team for a college visit.

At the end of the college visit the visiting team guides the candidate to the counsellors who informs the candidate that he/she is welcome to purchase the Application Form for Admission from the Accounts Section paying a sum of Rs. 100/-, fill it up at the earliest, Register themselves and secure their Admission.

[We encourage the candidates to be accompanied by their parent/guardian when they come to seek admission. If the candidate comes without being accompanied by the parent/guardian while coming for counselling, the counsellors insist that they bring along their parent/guardian when they come for registration/admission.]

F The Enquiry Form collected by the counsellors is periodically submitted at the Reception. The Reception enters the details of students on E-care Portal.

Phase Two: Application Form for Admission:

A/c The candidate purchases the Application Form for Admission from the Accounts Section paying Rs. 100/-. Accounts Section, before issuing the form, writes the Name of the Candidate on the Application Form for Admission, in order to avoid transfer of form. [A copy of the Prospectus, College Magazine, News Letter 7.3, etc., is also given along with the Application Form for Admission.]

The Accounts Staff issuing the Application Form enters also the Last Date for the Registration and Admission on the Application Form (This is to be amended periodically).

Phase Three: Application Form Verification & Recommendation:

The candidates who arrive with the Application Form for Admission duly filled are directed to meet the Verification Team and Recommendation for Admission. [The duplicate copies of the documents presented should be self-attested by the candidate.]

F The Application Form for Admission, duly filled, is presented to the Verification Team in the allotted Room/ Venue.

The Verification Team reads the duly filled Application Form carefully and ensures that all the necessary information asked for, in the Application Form for Admission, is provided by the candidate, and entered correctly.

The Verifier returns the original Mark Sheets of Class X & XII and other Original Documents (like, Sports, Caste, Domicile Certificates, etc.) to the candidate after verification. All other documents are attached to the examined Application Form. [The candidate is informed about the documents (if any) still needed to be produced, and is told to produce them on a particular date. The candidate is also told that until he/she produces all the required documents he/she will remain on the list of provisional admission only.]

Scholarship/Concession: While recommending for admission the counsellor should check if the candidate is eligible for any scholarship (please refer the Prospectus) offered by SPIPS and should recommend accordingly. [Only the catholic students are eligible for concession. Such students are directed to get a letter from their respective Parish Priest and meet the Director/Principal, pay Caution Money and Registration fee to secure admission. Fee details will be taken care of later.]

Once the Verification Team examining the Application Form is convinced of the eligibility of the candidate (please confirm carefully with the ‘Eligibility Criteria’); he/she recommends the candidate for Registration and Admission (stamps, signs and writes the Class and Branch on the Application Form) and directs the candidate to the Accounts Section for Registration & payment of Fee.

The counsellor informs the candidate about the date of the start of the New Academic Year, advises the candidates to get themselves ready with their uniforms and other relevant materials.

The counsellor preserves the duly filled Admission Form (which will be taken by a Staff to the Principal and then to the Accounts Section).

After the Payment of Fees, the Accounts Section gives the candidate the details of the UNIFORM (the vendor’s cards), and then the candidate is guided by a Staff for the PHOTO SESSION for Identity.

Then the candidate would be directed to meet the Principal. The provisional ID Card will be handed over to the candidate by the Principal.

Phase Four: DHE Online Registration

4.1 Online Registration and Submission of Application on the DHE Online Admission Portal

Online registration is mandatory for all students seeking admission to the college. As per the guidelines issued by the Department of Higher Education (DHE), students applying for scholarships must submit their Caste Certificate and Domicile Certificate at the time of admission.

REFUNDABLE CAUTION MONEY Rs. 2000/- IS PAYABLE AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION.

  • The fee once deposited will not be refunded under any circumstances.
  • Caution money paid at the time of admission will be refunded only at the time of leaving the Institute.
  • The institutional scholarship, if any, awarded to the student will be withdrawn in case the instalment is not paid on or before the due date.
  • The fee should be deposited within the prescribed time and can be paid only through online mode. For terms and conditions, please refer to the College Notice Board.
  • Delay in payment of fee will lead to late fee penalty, cancellation of admission, or debarring from University examinations, placement-related programmes, etc.
  • The admission form can be obtained from the College Office by paying ₹ 100/-. The form can also be downloaded.
  • In addition to annual fees, caution money of ₹ 2,000/- and registration fees of ₹ 1,000/- for B.Com., B.Sc., B.A., M.Com. and ₹ 3,000/- for B.B.A., B.C.A. are payable before confirmation of admission.
  • As per norms, the fee is payable for the entire academic year and not per individual semester. However, SPIPS allows payment in four instalments. Candidates may also pay the full fee at the time of admission.
  • A nominal increase in fees is expected in subsequent years.

Note:

  • For the Holistic Development of the students, the Activity charges will be Rs. 7,999/- per annuam, payable with II, III & IV installments.
  • A Rebate of Rs. 2000/- will be given to those who pay the Full Fee for the Academic Year at the time of Admission.
    Rs. 1999 will be charged with I Installment in PGDCA for Silver Certification of Data Science.
    Rs. 2999 will be charged with I Installment in PGDCA for Golden Certification of Artificial Intellegence.
